CHAUNCY RESTAURANT
Bonjour
A small country restaurant by Louis et Tess.
Ebbing with the seasons. In step with the growers.
European roots. French fare. Local produce. Lots of love.
I had the honour of working with Louis Naepels and Tess Murray on this incredible project that is Chauncy - Le Restaurant.
A restored historical building sets the scene in Heathcote. A passion project for Louis and Tess, Chauncy showcases their philosophies around food and life together with the seasonal produce of local growers, farmers and wine makers.
The branding story features a French blue, paired with soft grey, sitting elegantly beside warm white. The aesthetic is inspired by putting pen to paper and writing tales of French soirées and cycling through the countryside.
The illustrative set is as abundant as the produce on market day. The main character is a nod to Louis and his French heritage. The wine - a nod to Tess, a sommelier. Fresh herbs from the garden have been picked and stamped using French blue ink, preserving their beauty. Sage, lemon balm, parsley, thyme, coriander, calendula, along with Nasturtium - a favourite of Tess’s.
